Story

Adriano Conti graduated in Architecture in the early sixties (1962)
from the Istituto Universitario di Architettura in Venice (Italy)
with professor Ludovico Belgiojoso as reporter,
while other degree board member were professors
Bruno Zevi, Carlo Scarpa, Franco Albini,
Giulio Pizzetti and Giuseppe Samona’ as chairman.

Following a short but intensive experience in the fields of traditional and prefabricated building industry, Adriano Conti considers his professional activity as a self-employed architect in the fields of Architecture and Planning.

In the earlier years of his profession Adriano Conti created general and detailed master plans for the Municipalities of Latisana and Marano Lagunare, representing some of the most interesting and complex realities in the Friuli region low lands.

During this time the Architect put into practise his educational experience gained during the university planning courses held by professors Giovanni Astengo and Luigi Piccinato.

Just before the seismic events that threw Friuli into confusion (1976) the Architect’s planning activity spread toward the hilly and mountain Friuli’s area.

The master plans for the Municipalities of Ragogna and Vito D’Asio represent some of the most interesting professional experiences belonging to this time.

In the seventies the Architect’s professional activity developed up into the field of multi-flats residential buildings both private and public. This field of activity is continues up today and is characterized by significant continuity.

The Architect’s activity of designing remarkable tourist harbors and marinas within the Marano and Grado Lagoons’ districts in Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region also commenced during this time.

This field of professional activity lead the Architect to visit the most significant realizations of the most advanced European continental countries in the nautical tourism field as French, Netherlands and Denmark.

From these experiences the Architect took a particular care and sensitivity toward the environmental harmony delicacy typical of the lagoonal and coastal limits of the Eastern North Adriatic Sea coastline.

Later on further projects in the tourist harbors and inland navigation fields were distinguished by this care and sensitivity.

In order to recognize this acquired professional competence, Adriano Conti’s practice adopts the naming of “Idroprogetti” to point out the crucial role that the relationship with water, in its widest meaning, will play in the Architectural and Planning Architect’s conceptualization.

In the eighties, the architectural design activities were orientated towards the field of Public Buildings.

The new Town Hall of the Artegna Municipality, the Day Multipurpose Center of the Latisana Municipality and the new Regional Fish Market in Marano Lagunare are some of the best examples of public architecture designed by Adriano Conti.

In the second half of the nineties Architect’s experience in the planning sector developed by creating the General Master Plan of the Manzano Municipality, epicenter of one of the most important European industrial districts in the furnishing industry (the so called “Chair Triangle”).

More recently the Architect’s activities has spread to Leisure and Recreational activities as Open-Air Tourism and Farm-Tourism. In these fields special attention is devoted to the design of specific facilities such as Camping Areas, Ultralight Aircraft and Gliders Airfields, Tourism and Farm-Tourism via inland waterways.

The recent professional experience in the United Arab Emirates includes acting in the fields of Town Planning, Architectural Design and Supervision of Works.

In 2001 the joining of Fabio Conti enhanced Adriano Conti’s practice.
Fabio Conti graduated in Architecture at the Istituto Universitario di Architettura in Venice, with professor Bruno Dolcetta as reporter, widening the practice activity towards the functional recovery and restoration of environmental sensitive districts and groups of historical and artistic buildings thereby.
